Concert with Leeds Symphony Orchestra

On Saturday, with Leeds SO and soloists, we gave a very memorable concert which, from reports reaching me so far, our audience enjoyed greatly and in which we enjoyed performing. Thank you all very much for your hard work practising and your energetic and patient perseverance through three long, demanding evenings of singing in the church this week. I hope you will feel very proud of what we achieved and of taking part in a concert that attracted and delighted a large audience.
I should like to thank particularly: -
Our Music Director, for his expert leadership and very thorough and careful coaching of us over many weeks , including  attracting, welcoming and supporting new singers
Our Accompanist, for his tireless and supportive accompaniment and for stepping in at short notice to play for the orchestra as well,
Our Chairman and Music Director for a year of painstaking  work, liaising with Leeds SO and their conductor and for leading HCS’ responses to significant changes as the planning unfolded.
Leeds SO for their invitation to perform with them and their conductor for his leadership of the concert
HCS members, and members from St Margaret’s Church who worked so very hard on many occasions (notably three times this week) to ensure we were all suitably seated for every rehearsal and the performance
St Margaret’s Church and Parish Centre for the frequent use of their premises and St Mary’s Church for accommodating our second workshop
Our librarians, for keeping track of all the music and folders
Our treasurers (past and present) for handling costs and ticket sales

Our next event is our final event for 2016-7, on 21 July 2017, the End of Year Gathering for Members and friends.  I hope to see many of you there as we set the seal on the way we have surmounted the challenges of a very demanding year in HCS.

Yours sincerely,
